The Cape is back this winter. Outer garments are worked and reworked this winter. The cape has been reinvented in new shapes and fabrics to go with any look you may adopt. You may also feel like wrapping yourself around with some Plaid "tricot" or fringes details.
To stay warm this winter, the Parka made a huge come-back with a military touch but also in sophisticated fabric creating a couture parka. Inspired by the great explorer Ernest Shackleton, the parka invaded the catwalks getting more feminine than ever with lots of fur trimming.
There is no need to say that Black and grey are also a tendency. White as well is one big trend this winter. A trend inspired by the work of the artist Piero Manzoni. Minimal sometimes but you can also take this trend as far as you want.
If white is too bright for you, you can mix it with black. The yin and yang, the power of black and the angelic white printed garments will be a must have this winter for any kind of occasion. Any kind of print will make it, from digital printing, to graffiti to geometrical to floral, just let it be black and white.
One of the strongest color this season, the shade of Nude beige and Pink, for any look and any garment. Pink was seen on the catwalks on long dresses, jackets, coats, skirts... Just go pink this winter and you'll definitely be "à la mode".
The Scottish tartan will be seen this winter on pants, skirts, coats and parkas. You will have no other option but wear it.
The Neo Barocco will be maybe the richest look you can wear this winter. Black and gold embroidery inspired from the past but worked with futuristic vision.
The Floral Print, a botanical fresh print that went dark for winter. Mary Katrantzou took this print to a new level, making it look 3 dimensional by adding some flower applique to one skirt.
The Sixties shapes and volumes inspired by Balenciaga cocoon dress are back.
This winter seems to be very chic and soft. The next trend is the Polka dots. Dots weren't only printed on fabric, designers like Marc Jacobs used some plastic circles to create the dots effect. He was committed till the end to this trend that he covered hats and tights with it. Stella McCartney also used some plastic discs to decorate her clothes.
We left the best part to the end. This winter forget about long dresses for your evening look, go for a Tuxedo and let your femininity out. Once again Yves Saint Laurent is the inspiration.
